I have a friend named Franklin, yes Franklin is a nickname that gets horrible migraines. I’ve had a few in my life but never as bad as the ones the gets. My friends and I have started to call them Franklin Migraines (original name I know). But it gets the point across. That way if one of us calls to see if he can go out and he has one it’s nice and easy for him to get the message across. Also easy for us to text to each other for updates.


Lawyers

A friend of mine just had to go to a commercial litigation lawyers raleigh nc thing. I’m not entirely sure what exactly he does but I do know he’s a really great lawyer. He went to the same college I went to and graduated almost top of his class (he’s a few years older than I am). He invited me to go with him. I was sure it was going to be really boring but I actually met some really interesting people there!


Doctor Offices

Doctor’s offices are not my favorite places in the world to go, but the other day that is where I had to go. The majority of the time I had to sit and wait for the doctor (a very small part of the time was spent actually talking to the doctor). But I did notice the office’s new mobile computer workstations. They were actually pretty cool. Other than that interesting part the doctor’s visit was not super exciting.


Valentine’s Day

As the holiday season comes to a close stores start shaping up for the next holiday which is of course Valentine’s Day. This year is the first year my younger brother has a girlfriend. I suggested to him that he get her flowers, because of course that is the classic gift. Although it is definitely a better idea to order some online from places like www.flowercoupon.com. It would be awful if he were to get to the store and the store has run out of flowers or something!


Construction

The school I go to is currently in the process of building a new dorm. Every day on my walk to class I walk past it, which is pretty fun because I get to see all the steps that have to be taken to build a new building. The other day I saw some guy welding some metal (I don’t really know what it was for), but he was wearing a really, really cool miller welding helmet. It was so colorful, I really didn’t expect to see something like that.


Knowing Graduates

As I get older I suddenly find myself knowing more and more people with actual jobs. Even though I have yet to graduate from college a lot of my friends have. They now all have really jobs like some that are raleigh accountants or teachers or even a few doctors! Well maybe not quite doctors yet but they are in medical school. I’m starting to feel old… or at least like an adult!


Overalls

I saw a guy walking around campus the other day wearing carhartt coveralls. He looked so out of place. Not that wearing overalls is a bad thing. It just isn’t the outfit of choice at the college I go to. People here tend to wear mostly jeans and shirts. However, overalls are totally something I have come to see around my hometown. Well maybe not in my hometown specifically but definitely at my rival high school!


New Puppy

My family just got a new puppy. She is absolutely adorable. She is so tiny and just runs around all over the place. Of course there are always problems with puppies. We have already had to call raleigh carpet cleaning places twice. My mom always gets kind of mad, but really how mad can you get at something that is just so cute!


Graduating College

My friend’s older sister graduated from college last year. Everyone was really excited because she was really one of the first people that we knew that had graduated and was getting a job. She moved to New York where she has a huge new job selling barcode scanners. Her boyfriend is working on Wall Street. She’s living the ultimate New York life. I’m pretty jealous.


Neighborhood

I live in a very safe town. Within this small safe town I live in a even smaller and safer neighborhood. I think one of the reasons it is so safe is we have a citizen watch program. All the parents in the neighborhood take turns walking around for small periods of time making sure all is right in the neighborhood. Even if they never catch someone doing something I think the fact that people know we do it keeps things safe.
