Many companies have chosen to create merchant accounts because less and less people are carrying around cash. The whole world is starting to be solely online. Everyone uses either credit or debit cards and do all their banking online. The groups that  sell merchant accounts have found a great niche. It’s a niche that is only going to grow as the world becomes more and more technology dependent.
